A friend of mine Kathleen, who I hadn’t seen in 11 years was celebrating her birthday by taking a road trip up through Maine to see the fall colors. Kathleen lives in Cape Cod and her route was taking her pretty close to me. She was kind enough to pick me up out side of Portland. The hard part was getting all my gear in her car that was already loaded with her camping gear and her beautiful dog Eva. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the car was packed, we checked the weather. The coast seemed to be getting a lot of rain. It had rained on me on and off all day. I was happy to be in a car where it was dry. After looking at the weather we decided to leave the coast and head northwest. We headed to the Bigelow preserve to hike\/camp and sight see. I was hoping this time I would see a moose! We stayed there for a few nights then headed back towards her house on Cape Cod. I didn’t see any moose but it was beautiful. I think Maine has to be one of the prettiest states there is. We got very lucky with the weather and the rain kept to the east of us. I guess one advantage to traveling by vehicle is being able to out running the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So that’s why I haven’t updated my blog in a few days. Its been great few days visiting with Kathleen. Tomorrow I will back on the East Coast Greenway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
