I got to Savannah Georgia today, my 15 or 16 state. It’s been a good couple days. The weather has been perfect for me. I have been on route 17 mostly or at least very close to it. Usually Sunday mornings are one of my favorite days of the week for road riding. Traffic is usually pretty light. Yesterday though it was still heavy. I took a really nice quiet county road despite my phone telling me to do a u turn. I turned off the GPS and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. It did not reach a dead end like I was worried about but for several miles it was sand. The sand wasn’t very deep but it was impossible to ride in. I had beautiful weather, food and water so instead of turning around I decided to walk it. It was enjoyable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Charleston I got on a 8 mile bike path pretty early Sunday morning. I met Neal there when he stopped to take a few pictures. I had seen him as I was leaving a conveinance store after I had got water. Neal started in Michigan and is going to Key Largo where he has a sail boat. Him and a friend are then sailing to someplace in South America. I can’t remember where. We rode together for 5 or 6 miles until the bike path put us back on 17. He was quite a bit faster then me but I figured we would see each other again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Beaufort I took the Spanish Moss Trail. It was easy to see how it got its name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neal and I run into each other several times a day. I caught up to him today as he was changing a flat. Earlier we had talked about how lucky we have been with flat tires. We both have only had one each. Now he has had 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I finally got a good picture of an armadillo. I have seen a couple so far this trip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have also been seeing lots of birds again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
