Weekly Budget $40.
Resupply at DG $28.
Miles 93.
My weekly budget is $70 but I didn’t start riding until Wednesday night, thats why this week my budget was only $40. I am going to write down all I spend dureing the week then on Sunday figure it up. The $10 dollars a day challenge is for food and lodging. Money spent from the Coffee fund doesn’t count against my budget.
I got up around 6. It had rained on and off most the night but looked like it was clearing off. After coffee and packing up I rode back to the town of Point Of Rocks. I was meeting my Dad there at 8 am. In July I had applied for my passport and assumed it would arrive by the time I visited in late October. It still wasn’t there when I left Wednesday. Of course it arrived 2 days after I left. Dad volunteered to bring it to me which was great! I really hope to be able to Come home a few days for Christmas and will need it if flying is an option. I was really happy that he brought it and I didn’t have to try to find a place for them to mail it to me. After we had breakfast at Whites Ferry Grill I was back on the trail.

From all the rain and wind there was lots of debris on the trail. My front wheel uses a dynamo hub that generates electricity to charge my phone, bike computer and the headlamp I wear around camp. Somehow a stick got caught in my spokes and tore out the wiring. So I wasn’t able to charge my battery bank today. Tonight at camp I spent some time repairing that. This post is going to be short though because of my battery being low. I’m at swains lock biker campsite. There is several other people, but I think they walked in from the nearby parking area. I don’t see any bikes.

I have decided to go to the Eastern Shore, so from D.C I will be headed towards Annapolis. Unfortunately there’s a long stretch from the D.C area to Annapolis without a Warmshowers host. Annapolis is 60 miles away. I could ride that but I wouldn’t be able to spend much time at all the monuments. It seems pretty urban to find a stealth campsite but who knows what I will find. I would hate to get a motel so early in the trip. It’s only been 5 days since I showered and with the cooler temperatures and all the rain I have had, I think I’m good for at least 5 more!

Will you be biking over the Bay Bridge? I think that would be beautiful (except the traffic)
I will be going over it but not on my bike. Unfortunately bikes are not allowed on it. I’ll have to get a ride somehow.
