After an excellent breakfast of espresso eggs, bread and conversation I left my hosts house around 8:30. It was tough to leave. He was a very nice guy and I enjoyed talking to him and his son. He had a beautiful house and I could of sat on the deck all day with a book and a few more espressos. But the road was calling so I loaded up and headed out. I wanted to get to Buffalo but I stopped about 30 miles short. I only biked 43 miles today. For some reason today’s ride was tough and the miles were a struggle. I think my body was telling me I needed a day off the bike . At the road to Evangola state park I decided to call it a day. Checking in at the office I was assigned a campsite. There was only 3 sites left available. The Buffalo Bills play the Greenbay Packers tomorrow so that is probably why the place is full. But it is a beautiful spot right on the lake. However the campsites themselves leave quite a bit to be desired. Mostly a shade tree. But the rest of the park is great.

After paying for my site, as I was leaving the lady behind the counter handed me two energy bars. How fitting is that there Kind bars?

About five miles after I started out this morning,I came to the little town of Westfield. There is a historical Barcelona lighthouse there that I stopped and explored.

From Wikipedia: The Barcelona Lighthouse was constructed in 1829 to overlook Barcelona Harbor and aided sailors on Lake Erie until being deactivated in 1859. It was the first lighthouse in the world to be powered by natural gas.

As much as I disliked the sun today, I have to admit it was a beautiful sunset!

Beutiful pictures of the lake watch out for rowdy Bills fans returning from the game later today I’m sure they will be boozed up and celebrating the win
